Setting up & care
Hang the feeder 4–6 feet high, with morning sun and afternoon shade, near a tree or shrub for cover. Pop's rule of thumb: hang the swing about 1 foot from the feeder, at the same height. The swing hangs from its included "S" hook.
To fill the feeder, press down on the brass rod with one hand while gently lifting the cover with the other. Fill the bowl with up to 8 oz of nectar, then press the cover back on. Dishwasher safe, top rack only. Change nectar every 2–3 days in normal weather, every 1–2 days when it's 90°F or hotter, and right away if it turns cloudy.

Can I pick any swing?

Which nectar should I choose?
Nectarade® Ready to Use is the easiest: pour it straight into the feeder. Nectarade® concentrate and Nectarlyte® powder are mixed with water and go further. All of them add calcium and electrolytes, with no dyes or preservatives. Our nectar calculator shows how long each one lasts.
What is the wildflower seed add-on?

How long does it take for hummingbirds to start using the swing?
It varies bird to bird, and it may take a while. Pro tip: try moving the feeder about a foot away, at the same height, and hang the swing where the feeder was. Hummingbirds remember good food spots, which helps them discover the swing.
Is any assembly required?
No. The swing hangs from its included "S" hook, and the feeder comes ready to fill: lift the cover, add up to 8 oz of nectar, and press it back on.
How often should I change the nectar?
Change nectar every 2–3 days in normal weather, every 1–2 days when it's 90°F or hotter, and right away if it turns cloudy.
When should I take the feeder and swing down?
Take feeders (and the swing) down about two weeks after you last see a hummingbird. When to put feeders up and take them down.
